Located in Kirkland, Washington, the restaurant
occupies 3,700 square feet within the pedestrian downtown corridor. The owners came to us with the vision of opening
a successor to their contemporary Magnolia restaurant. Their goal was to create a modern dining experience
by incorporating a 650 square feet exhibition kitchen and a cocktail bar that would be the link from the reception
to the dining room. In the bar, glass shelves are suspended by thin steel fins, which allow the back bar to appear
as if it were floating. The bar counter is surfaced with copper, which will be allowed to patina randomly with use.
The color and material palette consist of warm, rich woods, soft and inviting fabrics, raw steel coupled with
gleaming glass and copper.
