This home situated just above Lake Washington had concrete floors, natural stone countertops, and clear fir trim. In order to create a balance with these hard materials, the furnishings needed to be colorful, comfortable and textural. The only addition to architectural detailing occurred over the tall fireplace in the living room, where reclaimed wood bleacher boards of old growth fir were placed horizontally and detailed with randomly placed cutouts. A sculpture of a deer’s head and antlers was placed here in a playful twist on the Northwest lodge tradition.

Our purchasing company StockUP, provided new furniture, custom furniture, accessories, and artwork to intermingle with a few existing pieces. The layout takes advantage of the beautiful view and includes seating for extended family and friends, with additional seating like Herman Miller wood stools, and small leather benches that slide out of the way under thick red console tables.
