When the owner purchased the house it
was showing effects from many years of neglect and shoddy remodel work.
A poorly conceived and constructed 1960’s era skin was stripped from the
3-story view side of the house. To open up the view and provide an informal
eating area, we designed a glass enclosed Sun Room with detailing sympathetic
with the style of the original house. While the owner wanted a kitchen with
clean lines, she was also concerned that it blend well with the Crafstman
era of the home. To achieve this, Shaker style flat panel cabinets of clear
finished VG fir were utilized along with soapstone countertops and satin nickel
hardware and plumbing fixtures. Project totaled 3,400 s.f. over 4 floors.
