This home is located on the waterfront
close to the lively downtown area of Kirkland in a building that houses the client’s offices
as well as his extensive car collection. The building and the living spaces were very well
designed and quite pristine. Our task was to furnish and soften the rooms so that they were
more functional for entertaining and more livable for our client, his family and his friends.
Starting with the main living room, our client found that people did not care to sit in the
large L-shaped sofa, as it was too soft and deep. We replaced it with a custom made sofa
and matching bench of a more ergonomic scale that also allows more space for mingling when
there is a crowd. Two classic leather Eames chairs were added to the group seating and
arranged to allow easy TV viewing for when the “crowd” is only one or two.
We worked extensively to light and install a new collection of art glass as well as
display a well-loved collection of model cars and vintage memorabilia to its best advantage.
The colorful dining room chandelier was relocated over the new pool table, which added to the
fun atmosphere of the “playroom” downstairs. Throughout this home new furniture, lighting,
bedding, accessories and quality artwork were added with warmer colors and textures to
enhance the existing spaces and express the client’s individual character.
