Hector's Restaurant in Kirkland was recently sold to a local entrepreneur. The 80-year-old, 5,000 SF building was
about to undergo a seismic upgrade when we were hired to develop a new concept and ambience. The goal was to retain
the character of the building while updating the interior and making it an inviting environment to dine in.
"Timeless Comfort Food" was their menu concept so feeling of the space needed to evoke that. With a warm color
palette of reds, oranges, greens, comfortable seating, unique antiques, custom lighting and metal work, this is
a restaurant not to be missed. The exterior color scheme reflects the warmth inside and greatly enhances
the restaurant's street presence. The challenge of the existing bar, atrium and dining room was to have them relate
to one another while retaining their separate functions. We are currently configuring the patio to contain
a smoking area. Before and after photos courtesy of the City of Kirkland.
