This young, professional couple purchased
and demolished 4 condominium units in order to create a new space which occupies the entire
floor. The husband is originally from Japan and the wife spent many years there. They wanted
the new space to reflect elements from both Japan and the Pacific Northwest. The space includes
a traditional Japanese soaking tub, exposed concrete structural column and beams, an extensive
low-voltage wiring system as well as a 100 gallon saltwater aquarium used as a divider between
the entry and living area. The kitchen features anigre cabinets, stainless steel appliances,
and a translucent resin cantilevered bar counter.
