Stock & Associates, Inc. worked closely with the owners of this 2,400 square foot, two story cabin in order to meet LEED Gold requirements. Nestled along the Yakima River near Ellensburg, Washington the basic premise of design was to incorporate green living into this family cabin. Included in the green living and LEED design scope is the use of structurally engineered panels for exterior walls and roofing, radiant concrete floors, triple pane windows, ground source heating, night venting for cooling, energy efficient lighting, energy star appliances, low VOC paints and the use of various recycled materials. The landscaping will include native and drought resistant plants that will require little to no maintenance once established.
